The Rotted
THE ROTTED’s subject matter reflects the times we live in, but unlike most bands that rant about the world as they see it, The Rotted do things differently. There is no preaching, no soap box bullshit with this band, The Rotted take the negative and twist and turn it and combine it with British gallows humour into something positive! The music is a unique blend of death metal, black metal, hardcore punk and dark cynical lyrical humour. Nothing contrived, no gimmicks, their music is honest and from the heart! The live shows are intense, fast and furious and littered with McCrow’s banter and audience participation, it provides a much-needed release for the band and the fans, a good time to be had by all!
The Rotted were formed in early 2008 by vocalist Ben McCrow and guitarist Tim Carley, the two main men behind UK death grind legends Gorerotted. They are now joined by bass player Reverend Trudgill and drummer Nate Gould, both previously of Blackened murder metal loonies Screamin Daemon.
“When Gorerotted and Screamin Daemon both came to an end in 2008 we knew we had to keep playing extreme metal. We wanted to go back to our roots and back to the bands that first got us into this music. You can hear it all over our records, we like extreme music the old school way! Recently we’ve been spinning a lot of discs by the bands we grew up listening to, Entombed, Napalm Death, Slayer, Sick Of It All, Sepultura, Motorhead, Iron Maiden
