The Toasters
The Toasters, America's longest running Ska band, The Ramones of the Ska Scene- Performing Ska music around the world for over 24 years!
Ska is definitely back and there is no better proponent than these icons of the scene, The Toasters! They've carved out their own niche in history, amassing along the way a humongous catalog of music, including 15 albums and DVDs, countless videos, singles and EPs and innumerable compilation appearances. Consummate outsiders, they've turned down major record deals from the likes of Danny Goldberg and Polygram and have opted instead to run down their own indie track, with the help of people like Joe Jackson who is Buck's mentor and has produced several album sessions. The band has logged a staggering 4,000 live concert appearances on stages all around the world. In 1997 Billboards lead article dubbed them New York's Ska Pioneers. With their eclectic, instantly recognizable and idiosyncratic sound the group has been branded as the "Miles Davis of Ska" and the "Ramones of Ska" alike.
