Minus the Bear
Minus the Bear is a Seattle, Washington-based band. The band features ex-members of Botch, Kill Sadie, and Sharks Keep Moving. Their sound is a combination of Pele-esque guitar-taps and electronics, with sophisticated time signature composition. The name "Minus the Bear" comes from an inside joke between the band members, referring to the 80s TV show B.J. and the Bear.
Minus the Bear is known for their amusing song titles, with examples including "Hey, Wanna Throw Up? Get Me Naked", "Get Me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo", "Monkey!!! Knife!!! Fight!!!" and "Lemurs, Man, Lemurs". On their latest album, Menos el Oso, the song names didn't carry the same humorous punchlines as on previous releases. Singles "Hooray" and "Houston We Have Uh-Oh..." have been featured on popular music websites such as PureVolume.
