Six Point Corner - Launch Night

Dancers in the Sheffield area will be handed the floor at a brand new weekly club event, Six Point Corner, at The Local Authority from Thursday 28th August supported by the city’s best dance music DJs.

The weekly event is a rare opportunity for a range of dancers to pit their skills against local talent in front of a live audience. Organisers are calling on BBoys, BGirls, Krumpers, Shufflers, Street dancers, House dancers, Pop & Lockers and anyone with style and attitude to be a part of the event.

Each week the doors will be open not only to aspiring dancers, but to fans looking to be a part of the audience with a backdrop of up-tempo beats from the city’s choicest DJs. The music will embrace all things dance spanning from Funk breaks, Electro, to Hip Hop and House, delivered by established Sheffield acts including Gadgetboy, DJ Bug, Bill Gert, Andy H and Wes and The Reverend Austin.

Winning contestants will earn their £5 entry fee back doubled, these five most entertaining dancers will be given Six Point Corner passes to trade in for drinks at the bar, or cash. The spirit of the event is to entertain, so entrants don’t need to be world class BBoys or classically trained dancers to win.

Categories will be announced over the coming weeks on Facebook.com/sixpointcorner, with the aim of opening up the competition to a wide range of dance genres.
